The Acorn Portal: Finding Your Doorway to Spiritual Authenticity

Have you ever known something about yourself so deeply that it terrified you?

I woke up at 18 in a Tennessee basement with the words "I am a Druid" ringing through me.

And then I spent nearly two decades hiding it.

For the Letters of Legacy launch, I publicly claimed the spiritual identity I've kept private for 18 years.

This is my coming out. And it's your permission slip.

My Story

Religious trauma is so real. The terror of hell kept me from questioning who I was and what my relationship with Divine could be. I founded a coven back in 2012, I hosted rituals, and I took my Priestess vows in 2019 - yet I still hid behind safer labels.

Then there was this moment at a retreat. I lost my ritual token in the dark cold, and ended up with an acorn in my pocket instead. That acorn became my doorway through the rest of the ritual. And looking back, it was my doorway to self-acceptance, to sovereignty, and to inner peace.

I write about this in my chapter in Letters of Legacy - "Walking the Winding Path of Death and Rebirth." But today, I also shared it out loud, on camera, publicly.

Because I realized: the most important thing I can be is me. And the most important thing you can be is YOU.

What I Taught (And What I Want You to Remember)

The Shadow-Light Dance

Picture a figure eight, an infinity symbol. One half is the light (the conscious), one half is the shadow (the subconscious). Where they cross is our point of awareness - that's where we have agency, power, control.

I don't have to grab into the light and try to stay up there. I also don't want to sink all the way into the shadow. I'm slipping and sliding around this journey. And when I can accept that, ride the wave, I know I'm gonna have the ride up into the light again.

You're never stuck at the bottom. The goal isn't to bypass and stay at the top. We embrace all of who we are.

Death and Rebirth Cycles Are Totally Normal

Death is really just the energy of release. Releasing something that doesn't fit anymore. Old, outdated ways of being. What doesn't need to be carried with us.

And stepping into that next way of being? That's the rebirth.

Every fall things die back. In that death, rebirth occurs and the next season comes. We need to embrace this because it's the ultimate symbol for moving through life.

Play with the symbolism - the butterfly, the snake, the phoenix. Where are you the caterpillar? Where are you in the chrysalis? Where are you emerging?

The Golden Thread

So many spiritual forms are built on leaving the world better than we found it. On kindness. On the golden rule. When you dig back, all spiritual paths share the same building blocks.

Your path is uniquely yours. You can blend traditions. I'm a Druid, a witch, a Christian mystic, a little dash of Buddhist.

And I will never, ever tell you there's one right way. If someone is telling you "this is the way, you're wrong, come over here to our camp, this is the one right way" - maybe run the other way. Maybe run.

Trust Yourself Over External Authorities

Your relationship with Spirit is sovereign. Your relationship with Spirit is your own.

True spirituality is measured by how we treat people. Are we expressing through knowing that we're interconnected and part of a larger whole? Or are we chasing external authority to absolve us of our shame?

The ground beneath your feet is already holy. Nothing else needs to be done.

The Acorn Portal Meditation

During the event, I guided everyone into an ancient grove of towering trees. You met your guide (angel, ancestor, guardian, animal - whoever showed up for you). You sat against a mighty oak and an acorn dropped into your lap. From there, magic unfolded.

You sprouted. You grew branches - each one a practice, a tradition, something you want to explore from your ancestry. You sent anything inauthentic down through your roots to be alchemized. You drew up authenticity, joy, lightness.

You are here to be your own unique entity. You are here to express in the way that only you can express. One with all, and all in you.

Watch the Replay

This goes well beyond my story.

This is for:

  • Anyone who's felt too weird, too woo, too wild, too different, too other

  • Spiritual misfits who don't fit traditional religious spaces

  • Anyone navigating religious trauma while seeking authentic connection

  • Those who know something deeply true about themselves but are terrified to claim it

After you watch, I'd love to hear:

What came through for you in the Acorn Portal?

What spiritual expression is calling you forward?
