Transition - A Poem

Reflecting on the liminal space as the fall colors come into view...

A fall mandala I made outside.

Today, I offer you another poem from my archives.

Perhaps, someday, this will make it into a volume of my poetry. Perhaps not.

Revisiting this poem this season, I know I must have penned it at a similar time when the air begins to crisp and the colors shift from their summer radiance into the multi-hued autumn.

Transition

Hues dance in humid air,
colors weaving nature’s tapestries,
chartreuse,
magenta,
eggshell,
orange so radiant even
chemical components could not
create a proper imitation.

Batting wings, falling leaves,
a jungle thick and
entropy in the
endless emerald growth,
if you look.

Beginnings,
ends,
beneath
blue and
canopy.

What are your favorite elements of this season?

Do you feel the shift in the air?

The presence of Mother Nature calling you towards stillness?

Oooooh, how I feel it!

But there is very little stillness in my own life right now as I am in the midst of cleaning, repairing, and painting my old home to sell this fall. Things have been nonstop. I’m very much looking forward to entering the phase where the perfect buyer welcomes this property as their new home.

I am both excited and grieving during this chapter. I know on the other side of this transition, I’ll seep up all the slow mornings and chilly evenings I can.

All My Love,

Safrianna the Poet
