You’re LGBTQIA+ and Have Faced Adversity & Trauma
The weight of being both visible and invisible is exhausting you.
Every day feels like a careful balancing act. In professional spaces, you monitor how much of yourself to reveal. In personal relationships, you navigate complex dynamics shaped by societal expectations. Even in queer spaces, you sometimes feel like you don't quite fit the mold.
Despite your accomplishments and the confident image you project, there's a persistent inner dialogue of doubt, hypervigilance, and quiet rage. The emotional labor of existing in spaces not designed for you has taken its toll.
You've tried compartmentalizing—being one person at work, another in your community, and someone else entirely in intimate relationships. You've attempted to push through by working harder, achieving more, proving your worth. You've even explored various healing modalities, but something crucial seems missing.
The disconnect between your authentic self and the person you present to the world is creating a fracture you can no longer ignore.
As a queer visionary or leader, you face unique challenges:
The subtle (and not-so-subtle) microaggressions that chip away at your sense of belonging
The exhaustion of being the "first" or "only" in professional spaces
The complex grief of missed developmental milestones and chosen family dynamics
The pressure to represent your entire community while maintaining your individual truth
The struggle to integrate your personal identity with your professional presence
I’m Safrianna, a queer identifying therapist offering online teletherapy in Maryland, and local to Frederick, MD.
I am a highly specialized trauma therapist that uses a variety of modern techniques to help clients meet their goals and overcome the oppressions of their personal history. I believe survivors of traumatic events like childhood abuse, sexual assault, and domestic violence can overcome the negative stories they tell themselves daily, and I believe you can, too.
Through our collaborative therapeutic relationship, you'll:
Develop a deeply compassionate relationship with all parts of yourself
Recognize how survival mechanisms that once protected you may now limit your potential
Integrate your authentic identity with your professional presence
Create boundaries that honor your needs without isolating you from community
Transform hypervigilance into intuitive discernment that enhances your leadership
Wherever you fall on the beautiful rainbow of the LGBTQIA+ spectrum, or if you’re just an ally looking for an open minded therapist, know that you won’t have to explain yourself to me. As a queer identifying and LGBT+ affirming therapist, I will never judge you for your personal identity, sexuality, or gender! I am simply excited to help you love who you are no matter your labels. If you are ready to overcome what you've lived through, I will walk with you to bring your shame into the light, crack open the “bottled up” secrets you've been terrified to share, and finally receive the healing you so desperately long for, all without judgement.
Are you ready to transform the weight you've been carrying into the wings that will help you soar?
I often hear from clients that they've felt misunderstood and unheard in the past by family, peers, or even a prior therapist for aspects of their LGBTQ+ identity. If you've experienced something similar, I invite you to reach out to an LGBTQ+ affirmative therapist like myself today. If you're interested in working with me, you can check out my FAQ to explore more information and schedule a 15 minute free consultation call!
