420 / Cannabis Friendly
As a cannabis friendly coach, I believe it is your right to try and find alternatives to modern Western medicine that help you be more comfortable in your life. Marijuana, pot, weed, or cannabis - whatever term you like to use - can help many people alleviate feelings of anxiety or help lift moods when used appropriately.
If you’ve been afraid to talk to a coach, therapist, or other helping provider about your marijuana use, look no further!
I believe cannabis can empower us to take better care of ourselves!
To be very clear, I do not support you coming high to a session. Why? Because when we’re high, parts of our brains that are essential for processing certain experiences go offline. That can be part of the reason why it’s useful to manage anxiety, depression, and PTSD. So, I support you in using medical marijuana, but ask that you time your usage to give yourself about four hours before and after sessions without cannabis to best allow your brain to take in the work we’re doing. If you can’t make that happen, we’ll be sure to use journals and other tools to help you process more throughout the week.
Being educated about cannabis is important to me. For example, using cannabis / marijuana prior to the age of 24 or 25 comes with some risks, and I want you to be aware of that. Using too much medical marijuana can also exacerbate, or make worse, symptoms of anxiety, fatigue, paranoia, dissociation, and more. Therefore, actually looking at your marijuana usage and finding both a type and level that is useful for you is of the utmost importance to your personal growth and health.
While I am not a medical doctor and cannot prescribe marijuana to you, if you have access to medical marijuana I can help you explore which strains are most useful for you and assist you in analyzing your habits in such a way that you can find peace within body and mind without delaying your progress!
